
OSAKA, Japan (WHN) – Daimaru Umeda Department Store, an official store for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, announced a lottery sale for exclusive Sanrio character merchandise featuring the Expo mascot, Myaku-Myaku. The sale targets fans of popular Sanrio characters, including My Melody, and is scheduled to begin next week.
The lottery will offer “EXPO2025 [Sanrio Characters] Myaku-Myaku Narikiri Plush Dolls Black.” Prices are set at 5,280 yen for the larger (M) size and 3,520 yen for smaller (BC) versions with a carabiner clip. Seven character types are available: Kuromi, My Melody, Pompompurin, Hello Kitty, Pochacco, Cinnamoroll, and Hangyodon.
Applications for this lottery will be accepted via a LINE mini-app. The application period opens on December 17 at 2 p.m. and closes on December 19 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced sequentially starting around 4 p.m. on December 21. Notification delivery may take two to three hours. Successful applicants can purchase their items between December 26 and December 27.
Applicants can select multiple character types and purchase dates during the application process. However, each winner is limited to one prize and one item only.
Daimaru Umeda is also conducting a separate lottery for “Myaku-Myaku Ball Chain Mascot (Sunburned/Oshi Color).” The “sunburned” series includes two designs: sunglasses and hibiscus, each priced at 2,728 yen. The “oshi color” series features six colors: blue, green, pink, purple, red, and yellow, with each mascot costing 2,530 yen.
The application window for the ball chain mascots mirrors the plush doll lottery: December 17, 2 p.m. to December 19, 11:59 p.m. Winner announcements for this item are scheduled to begin around 2 p.m. on December 21. Sales for these mascots will run from December 23 to December 25.
